ALBANY, N.Y. – The New York legislature is considering three security bills that would improve security in hospitals.
One would mandate 40 hours of fire prevention, criminal law, first aid and use of restraint-training for private security officers. The second would require 12-hour sex-offense response training for security guards.
The third would mandate security and risk management procedures that would prevent crimes, such as sexual misconduct. Training and reporting of incidents would also be required.
