3 Campus Officers Honored For Closing Sexual Assault Case

ROCKVILLE, Conn. — Three University of Connecticut police officers were honored on June 2 for their involvement in an investigation and arrest of a man in connection with a sexual assault on the university’s Storrs campus.

Sgt. Daniel Gugliotti, Officer Peter Harris and Officer Justin Gilbert were honored as “Officers of the Year” during a ceremony in Rockville Superior Court, Mansfield Today reports. Their involvement led to the arrest of Robert O. Morgan, 26, who was sentenced to 41 years in prison with five years of special parole and lifetime sex offender registration.

Morgan was accused of raping a student at the university in 2008. He was also linked to an attempted rape of another woman.
