2nd Suspect Charged In Texas College Shooting

Published: January 23, 2013

Authorities have charged a second suspect in the Tuesday shooting of three people at a Houston-area community college.

The suspect’s name has not been released, because he is not in custody, Harris County Sheriff Adrian Garcia said during a Thursday morning press conference. Deputies are still looking for the pistol used in the attack at Lone State College, reports the Houston Chronicle.

Carlton Berry, 22, has been charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Berry apparently shot himself in the buttocks when he tried to put the gun back in his pants, reports KHOU.

At least 10 shots were fired during an argument between Berry and 25-year-old Jody Neal. Sheriff Garcia said investigators were trying to determine what caused the argument, adding that the dispute was “idiocy, stupidity,” reports the Associated Press.
