200 Patients Forced to Evacuate NYC Hospital

New York University Tisch Hospital’s backup generator failed on Monday, prompting the evacuation of more than 200 patients, including 20 infants from the neonatal intensive care unit.

The generators were being used due to a widespread blackout in lower Manhattan caused by an electrical substation explosion, reports the Associated Press. The patients had to be carried down flights of stairs.
