YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — Two suspects were arrested in connection with a shooting at a Youngstown State University fraternity house that took place the morning of Feb. 6. The shooting left one dead and 11 others injured. The suspects face aggravated murder and felony assault charges.
The incident occurred during a party at Omega Psi Phi, an off-campus fraternity, The Wall Street Journal reports. Six of the victims are university students, including Jamail E. Johnson, 25, who died from his injuries. A 17-year-old girl is also in critical condition after being shot in the head. The victims were treated at St. Elizabeth Medical Center.
The suspects, Braylon Rogers, 19, and Columbus Jones, 22, who were not university students, were involved in an altercation during the party. According to the Associated Press, the dispute may have been over a girl. One suspect was escorted out of the house; both returned later with handguns and began firing through the open front door.
Rogers and Jones will face murder charges and have been denied bail.
