2 Students Charged in Maryland High School Bombing

FORT WASHINGTON, Md. – Four bombs were discovered at Friendly High School May 14; however, only two exploded and no one was injured. As a result, two students have been arrested.

According to Fox News the homemade bombs were built with plastic bottles filled with toilet bowl cleaner and tinfoil. The first bomb went off around 9:15 a.m., which immediately prompted school administrators to contact the fire department. Forty-five minutes after the first bomb had been cleaned up, a second bomb exploded near the administrative office.

Students were evacuated to the football field after the second bomb was set off. Around 12:45 p.m., they were allowed to return to class.

One of the students accused of setting off the blast was caught on a surveillance camera. Additionally, two other students were detained in connection with the event. All three face expulsion, although only two were arrested.
