MOUNT KISCO, N.Y. — Only a week after Douglas Kennedy was acquitted of harassment and child endangerment stemming from a Jan. 7 maternity ward incident, two Northern Westchester Hospital nurses involved in the altercation are suing him for negligence, assault and causing emotional and physical distress.
Cari Luciano and Anna Lane are asking for $200,000.
The son of Robert F. Kennedy was charged after he struggled with the nurses. Luciano and Lane said they were trying to prevent him from taking his infant son out of the maternity ward, while Kennedy claimed he was just taking the child out for fresh air. Kennedy claimed one of the nurses tried to snatch the child from him. Luciano said she was just trying to stop the “violent shaking” of the child.
Kennedy was acquitted of all criminal charged on Nov. 20.
