Published: January 8, 2007

LAS VEGAS – Police are seeking a gunman who shot and injured two students in the parking lot of Western High School.

The incident occurred Jan. 9 just before classes began. Police believe the shooting involved road rage and was not related to school activities or gangs.

According to police, prior to the incident, one of the injured students had been riding in a vehicle that almost collided with another car at a local convenience store. The driver of the other car, a Ford Mustang, then followed the vehicle carrying the student. The suspect then fired at least five rounds, hitting the two teens, before driving off.

A female student who had been walking through the parking lot was shot in the abdomen. A male student who was riding in the car was shot in the ankle. Both were taken to University Medical Center.
