2 Construction Workers Killed in Campus Crane Collapse

DALLAS — Two construction workers died Saturday when a crane on the University of Texas at Dallas campus collapsed.

The crane was being used to build a 155,000-square-foot arts and technology building, the Associated Press reports. Students were urged to stay away from that side of campus after the collapse.

Thunderstorms moving into the region brought sudden wind gusts reaching 40 mph. A witness reported seeing “something similar to scaffolding” tip over as a gust of wind came through.
