2 Campus Officers Steal $40,000 of Equipment

Two police officers who formerly worked for the Wentworth Institute of Technology have admitted they stole GPS and surveying equipment from the campus.

According to the Boston Herald, Jonathan Carroll Jr., 28, and Jay Cunha, 27, pleaded guilty to stealing about $40,000 of equipment. The thefts occurred while the two were working the night shift at the school. Investigators were able to identify the goods because they were posted on eBay.

Both officers were sentenced Oct. 26 to 30 days probation.
