MANASSAS, Va. – The George Mason University Police Department announced it is hosting the first annual national College and University Police and Investigators Conference (CUPIC) in Manassas, Va., Aug. 14 – 16. Topics and breakout sessions to be covered will be geared towards crimes committed on colleges and universities.
Conference organizers are currently putting together an itinerary and should have it available for viewing soon. Some of the break-out sessions and topics to be covered are terrorism, computer crimes, community policing in an academic setting, stalking and sexual assault, binge drinking/DWI, narcotics, and riot control.
Organizers are accepting calls for presentations and putting together a roster of keynote speakers. There is no cost for registration, and attendees can register online at http://cupic.gmu.edu/registration_form.htm.
