During a University of California regents meeting at UC San Francisco Sept. 16, 14 people were arrested for disruption, according to the Los Angeles Times.
Demonstrators protested against employee pay cuts and proposed increasing student fees. They were escorted out of the meeting room shouting, with their hands bound behind their backs by UC police shouting.
Fifteen minutes after the interruption, the meeting resumed. Police said the protestors would be cited for trespassing and unlawful assembly and would be released without bail.
The regents are meeting Sept. 16-17 to discuss a proposal to hike undergraduate student fees system-wide by an additional $2,514 over the next year. If approved, in November, the fees would rise to $10,302 by next fall.
