11 Rice U. Students Hospitalized for Alcohol Poisoning

HOUSTON — Nearly a dozen Rice University students were hospitalized Saturday for alcohol poisoning after the school’s “Night of Decadence” celebration.

Hosted at Weiss College, a name the school uses for its residence halls, the university-approved event has served as a Rice University tradition since 1972. More than 1,200 people attended, where alcohol is served to those of age, reports KVUE.com.

The 11 students taken to area hospitals were released Sunday. Rice officials stated that some of the students treated were under age.
