Nearly 20 percent of children in the U.S. have had flu-like illness in October. According to a new government health survey, most of those cases were likely swine flu.
About 7 percent of surveyed adults said they’d had a flu-like illness, msncb.com reports.The household survey targeted more than 14,000 adults in the beginning days of October. There were no medical confirmations on respondents’ flu reports.
Swine flu deaths among children at the start of September has nearly equaled the number of deaths in the first four months of the pandemic, according to the news report. The CDC has estimates millions of Americans affected with the virus.
