Campus Safety and the Campus Safety Conference are excited to share a photo collection that highlights just how much our canine pals contribute to our schools, universities and hospitals — especially during the holidays.
K9 units are a big part of keeping our schools, universities, and hospitals safe and happy. These amazing dogs do all sorts of important jobs, from sniffing out trouble to offering comfort when we need it most.
What Campus K9s Do
Law enforcement and security K9s are specially trained dogs that help officers find things like drugs, explosives, and firearms. Plus, just having them around can help stop trouble before it starts.
On top of keeping us safe, comfort and therapy dogs are showing up more and more to help with mental health. In hospitals, they cheer up patients and staff, making tough days a little brighter. At schools, these furry friends are there to calm things down during stressful moments, comfort anyone who’s having a hard time, and help students relax when anxiety levels run high, especially during finals.
In this gallery, you’ll find photos of some awesome working dogs we’ve featured before, plus a few new faces in the mix. You’ll also spot some of the beloved dogs owned by our own Campus Safety team — because our furry friends are heroes at work and at home!
