Keck Medical Center of USC Patient Evacuation Exercise

On August 20th 2013, Keck Medical Center of USC held a full scale patient evacuation exercise. It was the largest patient evacuation exercise in the history of the campus. The full scale exercise included members of the campus CERT team, Los Angeles City Fire, Station 2, Los Angeles County EMS Agency, The California Hospital Association, Bowers Ambulance and several area hospitals and clinics. The exercise gave us the opportunity to work in real time with our area partners. We had several objectives that focused on: the Hospital Command center, Nursing/Physician response and Evacuation Management.
