Congratulations to University of Rhode Island Director of Public Safety/Chief of Police Michael Jagoda for being named one of this year’s Higher Education/Healthcare Campus Safety Director of the Year finalists.
Here are some of his notable achievements:
- Improved internal and external communications via the creation of non-emergency mutual agreements that allow outside agencies to work with URI during large-scale events.
- Partnered with the school’s Office of Community, Equity, and Diversity to provide all police officer with social justice and inclusion training.
- Brought two explosive-detection dogs to URI for screening at sporting events, commencement, homecoming, concerts, and other events.
