The 2018 Campus Safety Salary and Benefits Survey

The racial breakdown of departments is practically the same as three years ago, although 4% more of this year’s survey respondents are minorities. Additionally, 5% more respondents who are chiefs of police, security directors, deputy chiefs or assistant directors are minorities. Nineteen percent of respondents who are chiefs or directors are minorities, and they have a median salary of $77,500, which is $5,000 more than white chiefs/ directors ($72,500).
