Exclusive Research: Access Control, Lock and Lockdown Special Report

The coronavirus is impacting everything from policies to technology uses, according to the 2020 Campus Safety Access Control, Lock and Lockdown Survey.

Reduced class sizes, mask requirements, temperature checks, visitor restrictions. School and hospital campuses nationwide are having to make drastic changes in response to COVID-19.

This year’s Campus Safety Access Control, Lock and Lockdown Survey found that policies and procedures have been affected most by COVID-19, with 65% of U.S. schools and 60% of colleges saying they are limiting the number of visitors to their campuses, and nearly one in three are not allowing visitors at all due to the pandemic.

This year’s survey focused not only on access control and lock hardware, but on the many ways the pandemic is affecting how campuses are being run. In this new research report, survey respondents were asked about:

  • Policies and procedures affected most by COVID-19
  • Adoption of new and additional technology
  • Enforcement of face mask requirements
  • Visitor management and lockdown hardware issues that remain
