Meeting First Responders ─ Make it a Regular Practice

Campus officials should make it a standard practice to have someone meet emergency responders as they enter the campus. This simple practice can shave precious minutes off of response times.

A simple yet critical technique is for campus officials to meet emergency responders as they arrive on campus for emergency calls.  Making this a regular practice for routine non-emergency situations can help ingrain a good habit that could be especially important in life and death emergency situations.  While this has been a practice in many K-20 campus organizations for several decades, we still encounter situations where particular campus organizations have not implemented this simple yet critical life-saving technique and felt it was worth mention here.

We are most grateful for your service and dedication to the safety of others.  Please do your best to have a most enjoyable day.
