Spotlight on K-12 School/District Campus Safety Director of the Year Finalist Donald Webster

Congratulations to Donald Webster, Chief of Campus Safety at Kalamazoo Public Schools, for being named one of this year’s K-12 school/district Campus Safety Director of the Year finalists.

Some of his notable achievements include:

  • Implemented a visitor management system to track and identify who comes on and off campus, alert officials if a visitor poses a risk, and more.
  • Updated the district’s two-way radio system from analog to digital, replaced the old public address system and extended it, and expanded the exterior paging system’s coverage.
  • Drastically reduced the number of fights that occurred at school by implementing a group violence intervention project to mediate and resolve ongoing conflicts.
