Congratulations to Brendan Sullivan, Director of Safety, Security and Emergency Management at Boulder Valley School District, for being named one of this year’s K-12 school/district Campus Safety Director of the Year finalists.
Some of his notable achievements include:
- Created the School Safety Advocate (SSA) program when the school board removed school resource officers from the district, resulting in the reduction of disciplinary incidents and tickets to students.
- Led the installation of security cameras on campus, resulting in the deterrence of misbehavior and less bias when investigating and responding to incidents.
- Developed a network of support among schools, law enforcement, and community organizations to respond to potential threats.
