Attack Resistant Doors Improve School Security
The video shows an intruder attempting to gain entry into a building for four minutes.
New attack resistant door openings from ASSA ABLOY can withstand damage long enough to give schools and other public buildings an added layer of security.
See for yourself in the video above as an attacker is given four minutes to gain entry into a building after the glass and door lock are shot 30 times each.
The attack resistant openings are offered with the company’s metal door brands Ceco Door and Curries, and ASSA ABLOY Wood Doors to form a complete doorway protection system.
“Buying time for teachers and students to get to safety in the relatively short duration of an active assailant situation is a recognized lifesaving strategy,” Ron Baer, ASSA ABLOY’s director of K-12 business development, says.
The added time is also critical for first responders to arrive and stop an attack.
The attack resistant openings include a door, frame and ASSA ABLOY hardware in addition to protective glass lites from School Guard Glass.
