Tips for Ensuring Polling Station Security at Schools on Election Day

School Staff Should Be Prepared

It is useful to have school staff members review school lockdown, evacuation and other emergency response procedures prior to Election Day. Officials should consider making small changes in response to the establishment of designated voter areas. Could any security systems (like video surveillance or access control) be adjusted to maximize building security? Even if no adjustments need to be made, school staff members should be extra prepared and vigilant on Election Day just in case.
