Safety Technology International (STI), a manufacturer of protective enclosures and push buttons, announces the release of its newly redesigned Exit Stopper door alarm, the STI-6400.
The new model now flashes while it emits an audible alarm to help deter wrongful use of a protected door. The multifunction door alarm is easy to install and the stop sign shape helps deter misuse, according to the company.
When activated, it sounds a warning alarm (105 or 95 dB) and now includes a flashing LED. Users select on location the alarm volume and length (30 seconds, three minutes or continuous).
Another option is annunciator mode. In this mode, the alarm will beep several times and reset when the door is closed. When used in alarm mode, a key operated override will silence the alarm and allow authorized exits. Options include a 15-second delay before arming or tripping or an auto-off when the door closes.
The self-contained alarm includes symbols and 20 labels to warn in two languages. The alarm sounds when turning on or off, has a low battery warning, extended battery life mode (battery included) and has a dry contact Form C relay option.
The alarm is for indoor use only. It can be mounted on the top, right, left or next to almost any door. The recommended operational temperature range is 32° to 113° Fahrenheit.
The alarm is virtually indestructible with a polycarbonate housing. There is a three-year guarantee against breakage of polycarbonate in normal use (one year on electro mechanical and electronic components).
The Exit Stopper is also CE approved and FCC and IC compliant.
