W.V. Hospital Relieves Security Company of Duty

MARTINSBURG, W.V.
Published: January 7, 2009

The VA Hospital in Martinsburg, W.V., will no longer have a security company manning its front gate in an effort to save money.

The hospital does not expect the change to affect patient care or safety since security is handled by the VA’s own police force. The force includes 22 officers with at least one person patrolling the grounds 24-7.

With the security company being relieved of their duties, no one will man the front gate to check IDs or greet visitors.
