Woman Arrested for Assaulting Nurse, Police Officer

A woman who became belligerent in St. Patrick Hospital's emergency room was taken into custody after she struck a nurse in the face with a towel and kicked a police officer called to the scene.

A woman who attempted to check herself into St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula on Christmas Day was arrested after she assaulted a nurse and kicked a police officer.

Mary Elizabeth Hansen became agitated while waiting in the hospital’s emergency room and demanded drugs. Hospital security called police after she whipped a nurse in the face with a towel, the Missoulian reports.

When two officers arrived to arrest Hansen, she kicked one officer in the legs repeatedly and refused to place her hands behind her back. Hansen has been charged with felony assault on a peace officer and three misdemeanors.
