Washington U. Student Found Beaten in Apartment Laundry Room
ST. LOUIS
A graduate student at Washington University was severely beaten inside an off-campus apartment laundry room on Dec. 21. The 29-year-old female victim was found conscious but has been unable to provide investigators with details of the attack.
According to police, the woman was beaten and left in critical condition for at least several hours before a maintenance worker found her, reports St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
University City Police Department Capt. Michael Ransom said there was no video surveillance to identify the suspect.
The entrance to the laundry room is locked. Only residents and maintenance workers have keys to access the facility. Police found no signs of forced entry.
The university has owned the apartment building since April 2002 and has not had any other security-related issues, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
