BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – The vice principal at Tevis Junior High has been placed on administrative leave for bringing a firearm on campus.
Kent Williams, 51, was taken into custody after a school worker told a Bakersfield police resource officer about the weapon in the vice principal’s backpack, Los Angeles Times reports.
By bringing the gun on campus, Williams violated the Panama Buena Vista Union School District’s gun policy.
Williams, who has worked for the district for seven years, has a permit to carry a concealed weapon; however, it doesn’t allow him to bring firearms on school campuses, KCRA.com reports.
