University Officials: Dorm Fire Started By Lightning

TUSKEGEE, Ala. — A fire that started on the Tuskegee University campus July 14 might have been the result of lightning.

The fire caused serious damage to the large West Commons apartments, a dormitory-style building, WSFA reports. The roof of the building was nearly gone after the fire ended.

The university is working to find immediate housing for affected students.
