Univ. of Houston Officer Killed In Crash, Responding To Call

HOUSTON, Texas — A University of Houston Police officer died in an accident, while responding to a call of an assault in progress at 1 a.m. Thursday,  reports the Houston Chronicle.

Officer Ann O’Donnell, 24, was responding to a possible assault at a Wendy’s restaurant, when her cruiser struck a tree.

O’Donnell is the first line of duty death for the agency. The officer had been with the agency for about a year.
