STOCKTON, Calif. — University of the Pacific is enhancing security measures on its campus in response to concerns addressed at a recent town hall meeting. Although some types of crime have decreased, burglaries and other crimes have been on the rise.
The university will be hiring a nighttime security patrol and experts to assess lighting and surveillance on campus, Recordnet.com reports. The campus escort service for students will be immediately extended to seven days a week from 6 p.m. to 2 p.m.
By March 1, the university will double the number of cadet patrol officers monitoring campus.
