COLUMBIA, Mo. — A man who started fires at the University of Missouri and Stephens College in 2011 was found guilty on two counts of arson this week.
In September 2011, 27-year-old Christopher Kelley started 10 fires in one night at Ellis Library at UM’s campus. The damage cost between $750,000 and $1 million. Officials also discovered that Kelley had started a fire in a Stephens College classroom in early 2011, ConnectMidMissouri.com reports.
Kelly faces a mandatory five years in prison without parole for each count, as well as up to 40 years and a fine.
