U. of Kentucky Students Report Being Drugged at Off-Campus Parties

Published: February 10, 2014

LEXINGTON, Ky. — University of Kentucky police have issued a public safety notice after some students reported being drugged at off-campus parties.

In an E-mail, UK Police noted that in the past two weeks, more students have reported that an unknown substance was slipped into their drinks while attending off-campus parties, WKYT.com reports.

The female victims told authorities that a strange substance appeared to dissolve in the drinks, which also had a weird taste. The victims also reported becoming heavily sedated after consuming just one drink.

UK Police are not sure if this is a growth trend or if the incidents are isolated. The department has urged students to follow several safety precautions, such as not leaving drinks unattended and not accepting a drink unless individuals are certain of its contents.
