U. of Florida President Agrees to Adopt New Stun Gun Policy

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – President Bernie Machen of the University of Florida (UF) agreed to accept new recommendations on restricted stun gun use April 22.

Earlier in the year, UF revised its Taser policy after the university made headlines when Andrew Meyer, a student at the university, was Tased at a September forum that featured Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass.

The 16 recommendations made by the committee addresses event management and free speech. Machen said he will adopt all of the recommendations.
