OXFORD, Ohio — Police are investigating a Miami University student for posting a flier labeled “Top Ten Ways to Get Away with Rape,” which was found on the bathroom wall of his dorm.
A resident assistant found the list in McBride Hall, a co-ed dorm on Oct. 6. Tips included graphic suggestions, such as having sex with unconscious women, drugging women with roofies and slitting women’s throats if they recognize their attackers,. The tip sheet replaced a university-sanctioned poster titled “Top 10 Ways to Prevent Sexual Assault, ABC News Reports.
At least 27 sexual assaults have been reported on campus since 2009, 19 of which occurred in the dorms, reports New York Daily News. The university held a mandatory meeting for all male students in the coed dorm building after the flier was reported. The offender will face several possible sanctions including suspension, removal from the dorm and mandatory educational programs.
