Who controls the content for digital signage generally comes down to who paid for it. However, Cahoy says the most successful digital signage networks often take a hybrid approach that allows everyone to contribute.
“I think the most successful networks are the ones that find the happy medium. You give centralized control for things like emergency notifications and maybe even [designate] a section or zone of the screen for school announcements. Then you have localized control for each individual college or department or wherever the display is at. Everybody sort of shares the burden of creating content keeping it fresh”
The content on digital displays should always be relevant to the area where the display is located. Content should be specific to the audience.
