A Texas teacher has refused under religious grounds to be fingerprinted even though 2007 state law requires it.

Pam McLaurin, a 22-year veteran, may lose her job as a kindergarten teacher if she does not comply with the law. According to wired.com, McLaurin claims the fingerprinting amounts to the “Mark of the Beast,” a branding mentioned in the Bible.

The Big Sandy Independent School District is fully supporting McLaurin’s decision, according to the report.
