MOUNT PLEASANT, Texas — The Mount Pleasant Independent School District’s (MPISD) Board of Trustees unanimously voted to spend roughly $24,000 for additional security cameras.
School officials said they budgeted $21,000 to add 16 new cameras at Mount Pleasant High School, reports the Daily Tribune. The cameras would be placed in the in-school suspension rooms, teacher parking lot and the Career and Technology Education building.
The board’s approval comes with a provision that the interim superintendent and the business manager would find ways to raise money not in the budget before taking money from the approved funds.
