After the initial reports of the H1N1 flu virus hit the United States, officials have confirmed cases of more than 10,000 infected people across the nation. All 50 states have been infected with the swine flu virus.
The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has said the confirmed tests represent about one in 20 of the actual number of infections, which would bring the total number of U.S. cases to around 200,000, reported Reuters.
According to CDC, the influenza has been responsible for 17 confirmed deaths.
Worldwide, the illness has affected nearly 18,000 people in 64 countries. The World Health Organization (WHO) has reported 115 deaths.
