A man allegedly wielding a sharp object died after being shot by a deputy on the campus of a Virginia hospital Aug. 15.
Police say the incident occurred around 4 a.m. as the man threatened the deputy on the campus of Inova Fairfax Hospital.
Police were first called about a suspicious man with a weapon near the hospital’s parking garage around 10 p.m. A Fairfax County Sherriff’s deputy on assignment at the hospital responded to the report and located the man.
The deputy shot the man multiple times after the suspect threatened the officer. The man died inside the hospital shortly after the shooting, according to Patch.
