Student Killed in Fraternity Party Stabbing

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A student of the University of Rochester was killed on Jan. 15 after he was stabbed in the upper torso by another student. The altercation took place during a party at the Delta Upsilon fraternity house.

Jeffrey Bordeaux, a junior, had an argument with Daren Venable during the party, WHEC-TV reports. The argument escalated and Venable stabbed Bordeaux. Campus police arrived at the scene around 1 a.m. and Bordeaux was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital.

Bordeaux was pronounced dead at the hospital. Venable has been charged with second-degree murder.

Rochester Police Department East Commander Tim List told the news source that the stabbing was an isolated incident and no further violence was expected.
