Student Drowns in Creek at N.C. College

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police are investigating the death of an Appalachian State University student whose body was found in a creek at a park on campus.

A passerby discovered 19-year-old Tyler Blalock’s body at the university’s Durham Park on Sept. 29. An initial autopsy report stated that the sophomore accidentally drowned, WBTV.com reports.

Grief counselors were available for students at the school after Blalock’s body was discovered.
