CHICAGO — The director of security at Stanstead College, a private boarding school in Quebec, is facing up to 30 years in an Illinois prison after police found $1.2 million worth of cocaine in his vehicle.
The incident occurred on Jan. 10, when Sylvain Bergeron, 42, was stopped by police just outside of Chicago for a traffic violation. During the stop, the officers found more than 900 grams of cocaine in the vehicle, CBC News reports.
Bergeron was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver. He could face anywhere from six to 30 years in prison with no probation.
The security director has been suspended from his duties without pay.
