Congratulations to University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center and the University of Texas Health Science Center Chief of Police and Chief Security Officer William Adcox on being named one of this year’s Campus Safety Director of the Year finalists.

Here are some of his notable achievements:

  • Worked for three years with the FBI, Texas Department of Public Safety, Harris County Sherriff’s Department, Houston Police Department and many local campus police agencies to participate in integrated active shooter drills in recently vacated buildings to provide ‘live’ full-scale simulations.
  • Agency has won the University of Texas Statewide Chancellor’s Pistol Match three years in a row.
  • Created a threat management unit resulting in a 300% increase since 2012 in early intervention reporting.
