RALEIGH, N.C. – Three men have been arrested for the July 27 shooting at North Carolina State University shooting that injured two people, according to ABC News. Police believe the shooting was gang related.
The suspects, Ryan Barnes, 20, Leroy Barnes Jr., 19, and Terrell Grimes, 16, are members of the Crips gang, according to police. Each has been charged with one count of attempted murder and two counts of assault with a deadly weapon to inflict serious injury. Only Ryan Barnes was a student at the university.
The victims, one male and one female, were sitting at a gazebo near a student apartment complex. According to police, the male victim was a member of another subset of the gang. Prior to the shooting, the victim and the suspects had a dispute.
Both victims are expected to survive. The suspects all face $1 million bonds.
