A sex offender allegedly assaulted a female hospital employee inside a bathroom at Massachusetts General Hospital on Oct. 22.

David Flavell was arraigned in Boston Municipal Court on charges of assault with intent to rape and assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon. According to Boston.com, prosecutors have twice failed to declare Flavell as a sexually dangerous person and commit him to a treatment center.

Flavell allegedly grabbed the 27-year-old employee around the neck and waist. The woman was able to fight off his attacks, however, she still needed medical treatment. According to investigators, no sexual assault occurred.
