COLUMBUS, Ohio — Two Ohio State University police officers worked so many overtime shifts in 2010 that their overtime pay surpassed their base salary, reports the Dayton Daily News.
Officers Richard A. Green and Thomas A. Schneider, each took in more than $84,000 in overtime last year. They earned more than $165,000.
State Sen. Peggy Lehner, who chairs the Senate Education Committee and is a nonvoting member of the Ohio Board of Regents, said she was “horrified” by the numbers.
The Ohio State University Police Department paid out $1 million in overtime pay out of a $4.9 million total payroll.
