Repeat Broadcast of Campus Emergency Notification Webinar to be Held May 1

GLENDALE, Calif. – GLENDALE, Calif. – Robert C. Chandler, Ph.D., was the featured speaker at 3n’s (National Notification Network), a mass notification system provider, free educational webinar for colleges and universities entitled, “College and University Emergency Notification: How Has the World Changed?” Recent events such as the Virginia Tech shootings and disturbances at schools across the country illustrate the role and importance of crisis communications in an emergency and expose a critical need for heightened emergency preparedness and response at colleges and universities nationwide to ensure campus safety. The webinar took place on Thursday, April 26, but will be repeated on Tuesday, May 1, at 10 a.m. PST / 1 p.m. EST.

This instructional event included a high-level review of the sequence of events at Virginia Tech and highlighted important considerations for colleges and universities in their emergency response planning efforts, such as information processing, decision-making and communication in a crisis and the role of multi-channel communications.
