Rapist Escapee Detained After 12-Day Search

OROVILLE, Calif.

The rapist that escaped from an Oroville, Calif., hospital on Feb. 14 was finally caught after 12 days on the run. Michael Dean Nunley II was arrested without incident after local Sherriff’s found him in a mobile home.

Nunley, a convicted rapist, is being held in Butte County Jail without bail on a related crime. Nunley left through the hospital’s front entrance after slipping off his leg restraints. He was at the hospital for unspecified medical reasons.
